Do Not Overcome Evil with Evil

How we treat people can have a great impact on the degree of blessings and favor of God we are experiencing in our lives.

Are you good to people? Are you kind and considerate? Do you speak and act with love in your heart and regard other people as valuable and special?

Listen, you can’t be rude and inconsiderate and expect to live in victory. Evil is never overcomed by more evil. No! We overcome evil with good. I know it’s not easy. But with God’s grace, when someone hurts you, the only way you can overcome it, is by showing mercy, forgiving them, and doing what is right.

Keep taking the high road, being kind and courteous. Keep walking in love and having a good attitude. God sees what you’re doing, and He will make sure your good actions and attitude will overcome that evil. You will come out far ahead of where you would have been, had you fought fire with fire.

Pause and reflect on how you can show kindness and mercy to one who had been unkind and unmercifully to you so that you too can receive mercy and kindness from God.

Success Story: How I went from a CGPA of 2.29 to 4.00 within a Semester

This is a Success Story shared by Olusola O'sola Fapohunda, a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure. ----- In early 2010, I went with about four other guys in my department - to visit our level registration officer. We wanted to check our result. Each one of us, was with a paper and a pen. The lecturer in charge asked for our matriculation numbers and one after the other, he was reeling off grades, GPA and CGPA. He eventually got to me and I heard a digit that sounded like I've been shot. God! Me! 2.29. I've earned myself Grade E in some three unit courses and my best course was APH301, which I had a B with a score of 69. A lot of us have become used to using salt to kill earthworms when we encounter any in our houses. I've thought about this for a while now, but I recently decided to check it up and I'll share what I learnt about the science. As Christians, we are not in any battle with the devil. There is no battle again. Christ defeated the devil and made a public example of him. Why still fight an already won battle? The only thing we do is confirming and enforcing the defeat. In the military it is called a mop up operation. We are only soldiers assigned to our immediate environments to ensure criminals don't infiltrate the already conquered territory. We have the upper hand and full control. Young people listen... You may not have the best school or opportunities like me, but at least you have something like Nigeria at the moment which is a shithole. Yet, we can make this shithole a huge vast intellectual brain reserve. The metaphor of the shithole is that it is a conduit a passage for remnant. When I was a kid, I saw the Germans convert shit to energy for cooking and fertiliser. You have a brain young people, use it. Young Nigerians, we do not have a future in our present state. Let us start creating one. The beautiful thing is that we have all the resources we ever need.. to start with...
