Design It Now!
I like following up documentaries of the world best mansions, and today (on the day this was written) I checked the best buildings for 2017. What I saw rendered me speechless, motionless and breathless.
We now have a spiral house, a house that twist or rotates, (cayan tower), designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill . It’s the world’s tallest high-rise building with a twist. It spirals an amazing 90 degree from its base to its crown and 305 meters above the ground.
The building don’t look the same in a day, it comes with different designs and patterns. You can ask google the rest. I call it architectural wonder.
The designer said “the twisting nature of life inspired me to design a twisting building, to proof to life that anything can twist” inspired by life.
As they were previewing the tower, I noticed more emphasis was placed on the building plan instead of the building. In fact, every creativities and errors pointed out were from the design and not the building itself.
And it dawn on me that this inspiring and mind blowing edifice is just a replicate of dots put together with mere pencils, erasers and papers.
I took some time to ponder on those three things – Pencil, Eraser and paper. And I heard;
“Don't be in a haste to enter 2018, design it first”
With pencil, eraser and paper, you can put together an extraordinary future for yourself with less stress.
I learnt three lessons from it.
1. If you design your 2018 today, if the mistakes are much, you can throw away the paper and pick a new one, but imagine you throwing away some good months in 2018 because of mistakes you could have seen and corrected on paper. Think about it.
2. It will be better to clean 2018 mistakes today with eraser than tomorrow with handkerchief. There are basically two things we clean with handkerchief; sweat and tears. Think about it.
3. If you design 2018 now, your pencil may break or the ink finish, the good news is that you can buy another pencil and continue, but if your life ink breaks or finishes before completing the live project because of errors and mistakes where would you get another life from. Think about it.
Design it first; don’t be in a haste to enter 2018.
Don't expect from 2018 that which you have not added to your design. So add anything good that comes your mind, don’t cheat yourself.
“the future belongs to those who captures it before its arrival”
So,
Don’t enter 2018 as a stranger; let 2017 introduce you to 2018 as they meet at the cross over night. Let 2018 know there is a man, a woman that should be treated as a VIP.
Don't enter 2018 as a novice, let it be that you are used to her days, weeks and months before arrival. Don't let them take you by surprise.
Don't enter 2018 as a baby; so you won’t start by sitting, then crawling, before you could learn to stand, walk and run, the year might be over. Sit now and plan so by January you can start walking and running.
"The speed of a man is determined by his knowledge of his direction".
I will be happy if you could be conversant with the nooks and crannies of 2018 now. After all there are people living in 2020 now, also those living in 1990s.
Let your mind alter nature.
