Love Should Not Blind You

Blindness is lacking all consciousness or awareness. Inability to perceive and lacking the sense of sight.

Marriage is beautiful if You marry right! The person you decide to marry is a reflection of your wisdom and deep knowledge at the time you married the person.

You need to be alert when it comes to any type of relationship including Marriage. Prov 13:20 – He that walks with the wise shall become wise but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. So He that goes beyond just walking with the wise to marry the wise, communes, interacts, walks and negotiate and starts a family with the wise is really wise.

Now how about he who decides not to only stay in the companion of a foolish person but moves to the level of marriage? It is a serious issue! Your relationship will determine the experiences of your life including marital relationship.

I was with my parents over the weekend. It was a great time with them. Our conversations especially when I am about leaving them after a visit will end with a prayer. But this time a good part of the conversation centered on marriage and so was about 86% of the prayer on getting married from the right family and settling down well....hmmm. You see, we all have this almighty question to answer now and then. In fact, life in Nigeria is ideally viewed in a particular cycle – Birth - Go to School - Graduate from University - National Youth Service - Work or Business - Marriage and Children, and then Work, Work, Business, Business - Raise Children - Work, Work, Business, Business - Death. I hope you can relate with that cycle. When you are done, your children obviously will continue with the next cycle starting from where you started. Everyone's trying to be truly happy, and everyone surely deserves that, because there's no life without happiness. But a lot of persons are much unhappy inside than they seem to be. Each time I hear things like the young people should be given a chance to lead, I laugh. I know we still have very good and competent young people that can be agents of transformation but they are in the tiniest minority. So many are quick to use the arguments of our past leaders attaining positions of leadership at very young ages, true but you must realise that they got there not because of their competency but because they were lucky to be among a few that were a bit enlightened in the wake of transition from the colonial era. There was an immediate need to transfer responsibility of leadership to any indigenous person that had some level of education but not because of their ingenuity. I was on one of my favorite spots reading with my phone, when two young ladies, one in bum shorts (I hate when ladies wear this outside) just showcasing themselves in front of me. I lifted my head and looked, then smiled and shook my head as if I didn't see anything. I continued my reading. After plenty effort to gain my attention, by one of them, they advised themselves. One said to the other, why you just dey show yourself, which boy weh go call you for here? I smiled again, then two ladies beside me joined in the discussion. You probably may have tried different exploits to get something to work or done but it seem to be infeasible. It gets worse when it drains you away and there is no strength left to give it just one more push. This is the break point – that moment when all you need is just a slight push but your strength is failing you. If your body is weak, your mind cannot afford to be weak. Your mind controls your body. If your will to Succeed in anything is low, there is a chance that you cannot win, for the desire to win and see the end of that, has to be and must be greater than the fear which comes when you doubt yourself or what you can do.
