"ANYONE?"
Ever seen somebody frantically searching for something before and then when you asked them what they were looking for, they replied "I don't know". Now imagine that. How would you react to that? I mean, how will they know when they finally find it?
Truth is, when you know what you are looking for, it's easier to find it...
When you have an idea of the kind of person you are looking for, for friendship, relationship, marriage, it's easier to identify them when they come around and easier to detect those that aren't the real deal. It's why missing persons are searched for using their photographs.
May I ask you, do you have a photograph of the life you want? The future you desire? The kind of spouse you want? The kind of kids you want to bring up?
BECAUSE, You cannot afford to just accept anything, take anything that comes your way, do anything, be anything.
For where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable.
Let me tell you a story, a funny one maybe.
A young man was accompanied by his influential dad to visit the registrar of the University he had applied seeking admission into.
The Registrar after going through the available courses the school offered, asked the young man,
"So what course would you prefer?"
Hear the young man's epic reply;
"Anyone Ma, just give me anyone"
Now you will agree with me that that is quite an idiotic request in the face of a blank cheque?
"ANYONE"
But yet many of us live our lives in a similar pattern; "just give me anyone".
Even a desperately hungry man is wise enough to not ingest poison notwithstanding the fact that he is hungry.
It's funny, we hang around people who are of no benefit to us, who are helping us die daily.
When we have no idea of the kind of friends we want, just anyone goes.
When we have no idea of the kind of life we want to live, anyone goes.
When we have no idea of the kind of spouse we want, any and every Tom, Dick and Harry is qualified.
I could have studied fine art. I have the talent it takes to go far in it. But for the fact that I discovered what I want with my life, fortunately and unfortunately it's not art, so just anything won't do. Same reason just any lady won't do for me, not every activity gets my attention, not every person gets my attention, it's called being intentional about your today so you can actualize a desired tomorrow.
Stop living your life like it's an accident. What do you want to achieve with your life? What kind of spouse do you want? Anybody? What kind of marriage do you want to have? Any type? What kind of life do you want to live? Any life? What kind of money do you want to earn? Any amount is okay right? What kind of car do you want to drive? Any one as long as it has four tyres right? What kind of Christian do you want or be? Anyone so long as you are called a Christian?
This is what vision is all about. As someone rightly said, it's the picture we have of the future we want.
Remember, "where there is no vision, the people perish"
Joseph had a dream, it's why he didn't sleep with Potiophar's wife. He knew where he was going, and it didn't involve the body of Potiphar's Wife. Sampson had no dream, it's why he pursued anything in skirts, he had no where he was going really.
Martin Luther King Jnr had a dream, it's why he lived a purposeful life.
And you, what's your dream or is yours ANYONE issue too?
You cannot afford to live a life without goals. Wanting is not enough, knowing what you want is..
