Are you a value-adding person or a parasite? Do you go about seeking for opportunities to help, or to be helped? I have said it before and will say it again that, at our various levels, we all can be a blessing; somehow.

We know what you will do when you have plenty but what are you doing with the little in your hands? Only he that is faithful with little, can be trusted with much.

You were created to add value to your world; not to be a victim of circumstances.
Rise up, and give to your world.

The session was on Olajumoke Adenowo. ---------- (Diligent Amaka speaking) Olajumoke Olufunmilola Adenowo (born in 1968) is an award-winning Nigerian architect, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, as well as a speaker, radio host, and author. She is the founder of the boutique architecture and interior design firm AD Consultin, based in Lagos, Nigeria. CNN described her as "Africa's Starchitect" and The Guardian (Nigeria) has described her as "the face of Architecture in Nigeria. Adenowo has several philanthropic ventures. In 1999, she founded the Awesome Treasures Foundation (ATF), a faith-based NGO in Lagos, Nigeria. I will love to write a little science about airplanes being able to fly. I'll only give a basic summary of a more detailed science. Photo Credit: freepik.com Four forces act on a flying airplane: the LIFT acting upward, the WEIGHT acting downwards, the THRUST acting forward, and the DRAG acting backwards. The LIFT is the force that makes the airplane move upward, and it is balanced by an opposite force, the WEIGHT which the plane exerts downwards and which is as a result of the plane's weight including the weight of people and loads on the plane. The THRUST is the force that makes the plane move forward, and it is balanced by a resistance force, the DRAG. Thus, for a plane to move forward, the THRUST must be greater than the DRAG; and for the same plane to move upwards, the LIFT must be greater than the WEIGHT. A few days ago, I found myself in a work space where I had to negotiate for a deal with an organization. I was welcomed warmly. As I walked down to the appointed office, I was concerned by the facial expression of one of the employees as we moved in opposite directions. He muttered words in complaint with face bowed to the ground as He had received a portion of the managers venom for not meeting up with the required task. He pronounced a few challenges before him to another coworker as they moved to resume duty. He muttered the sleepless nights his family has faced because of their sick child and how this has drained his finances. The manager at his end was still expressing his displeasure until he got a sight of me. I was immediately seated with Him and we chatted for about 5 minutes before we commenced the business of the day. We talked about family, business and government. Why You have got to maintain a Steady Stream of New Customers

WakingThoughts: This morning (on the day this was written), I wrote, "You are not a serious business if you do not have a system in place to respond to enquiries and close sales." As a business, you've got to maintain a steady pipeline of new customers for the following reasons: 1. In a competitive market, every new customer is market share stolen from your competitor. 2. A steady stream of new customers creates cash flow. 3. New customers provide a buffer from lost sales, when old customers leave. 4. A satisfied new customer leads to recurrent sales, which reduces your cost of marketing. 5. A constant stream of new customers guarantees your generational relevance and pushes you to innovate, as your business matures. Each time I hear things like the young people should be given a chance to lead, I laugh. I know we still have very good and competent young people that can be agents of transformation but they are in the tiniest minority. So many are quick to use the arguments of our past leaders attaining positions of leadership at very young ages, true but you must realise that they got there not because of their competency but because they were lucky to be among a few that were a bit enlightened in the wake of transition from the colonial era. There was an immediate need to transfer responsibility of leadership to any indigenous person that had some level of education but not because of their ingenuity. From my judgement, they were average and had not passed the mediocrity mark of which I will say they are the reason for our current predicaments. Our generation has been termed to be the most open minded in the history of human race. That's partly true, as our generation is extremely diverse, and with that diversity many ways of thinking appear. We find that the ideas older generation consider private are openly discussed by our generation and likes of such attitude and approach towards life. This new behaviour and idea of diversity has exposed a lot of us to accepting new ideas – which is not a bad thing in itself. However, it becomes a problem when we start allowing the ideologies, beliefs, and expectations of others define how we live our life. The lack of a strong personal conviction or ideology has left many to seek validation or acceptance from external parties, letting the acts and words of others guide how they live their lives. A lot of us have become used to using salt to kill earthworms when we encounter any in our houses. I've thought about this for a while now, but I recently decided to check it up and I'll share what I learnt about the science. Before that, I'll share some points about earthworms: - They are in the lumbricus genus, there are various species of earthworms, but the common earthworm's scientific name is lumbricus terrestris - Their digestive system runs through the length of their skin - Earthworms respire through their skin - They are hermaphrodites (each one carries both male and female sex organs) - They lack either an internal skeleton or exoskeleton , but maintain their structure with fluid-filled coelom chambers that function as a hydrostatic skeleton.
