The evil called "Junior Waec"

Saw this on facebook and felt it's worth sharing here..

In JSS3; Our educational curriculum mandates that an examination be taken.
This said exam is aimed at segregating the class into:- Sciences, Commercials and Arts; as the students transit to Senior Secondary School level.
Those that score well above average are moved to sciences. The school management naturally assumes this category to be the most intelligent of the bunch and they surreptitiously bestow upon them the responsibility to become the future Medical doctors and Engineers.
Those whose scores were average are moved to commercials because they are terms as those whose brains lack the capacity to comprehend Physics, Chemistry and Biology. They are better of going into the world of business.
And those whose scores are below average are moved to Arts. These ones are characterised as dullards and olodo rabbatas. This category of students are termed as future Politicians.

Ladies and gentlemen;

This is the fundamental reason why Nigeria is often regarded as a failed state.
The core determinant of a productive economy is dependent on the productivity index of her people and the people can only become productive when their potentials are being harnessed and optimally maximized. But how can their potentials be harnessed when they have already been routed through wrong paths abinitio?

"No one is a dullard. We are all geniuses in our own rights. If you judge a dog by its ability to compete with a goat in a game of eating grass, it will live its whole life believing that it is useless".
Every child is a genius.
Every child is a superstar
Some learn by printings, some learn by paintings, some learn by hearing, while some others learn by watching.
We should understand that different kids come from different backgrounds.
Some were born with silverspoons in their hands, others in their mouths, while some others just had to swim down the ocean to seek for theirs and so, putting all these kids with different mental ideals in a classroom and judging their intellectual capabilities by an examination is total impecuniosity of logic and reasoning.
An examination should never be a yardstick to determine those who aren't good enough to become Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Photographers etcetera.
Let us put an end to this societal madness.
In as much as we want to guide these kids through their career paths, we should try not to ostracize the efficacy of Wisdom and not be totally immersed and surrendered to the whims and caprices of the environmental norm.
