You Do it because You are a Responsible Son

Many of us are frustrated simply because we run our Christian race with an "entitlement mentality."

Things happen, and we begin to ask "Why me?" and tell of how we don't deserve such.
Our faith is not in God perse, but in how "much" we have done "for Him" or "sown" into "His work" and how "good" we are.

Such thinking or mentality gets us nowhere with God, and gets us nothing from Him.

Ask the the elder brother of the prodigal son...

"Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid that I might make merry with my friends: But as soon as this thy son was come, which art devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine." – Luke 15: 29-31.

Stop trying, struggling, working, striving, and labouring to make yourself deserving of your inheritance in Christ. It is yours simply because you are a son; not because you merited it. It is all by grace.

Remember, "all that I have is yours..."

So, when you work, it is not in order to gain something. It is because you are a responsible son... who must see to his Father's business.

You may be consuming high amounts of sugar and it's unhealthy for you

A lot of us must have heard that much sugar is not healthy, but a good number of persons still consume a large amount of it. Sugar is a carbohydrate and we have simple sugars (glucose, fructose, galactose) and more complex forms of it (sucrose, lactose, maltose). The sugar we consume is mostly in the form of sucrose, a disaccharide made up of glucose and fructose. When we consume sugar, it is metabolized to give us energy, but when high amounts of it is consumed, the body converts to body fats and store them. Sugar (sucrose) contains about 50% fructose, and fructose, which is actually the sweet part of sugar, responsible for the sweetness we taste when we take sugar is not good for us. Fructose is metabolized only by the liver which means there's a lot of work for one's liver to do. It has been an interesting week in the world of football. A couple of transfers were done, and we'll see those involving popular stars and some top clubs. Before we get to that, I want to say a big Congrats to Germany for their victory as the Confederations Cup Champions. He picked up his pen and started writing: • Last year, I had a surgery and my gallbladder was removed. I had to stay stuck to the bed due to this surgery for a long time. • The same year I reached the age of 60 years and had to give up my favourite job in the Publishing company in which I had spent 30 years of my life. • The same year I experienced the sorrow of the death of my father. • And in the same year my son failed in his medical exams because he had a car accident. The most popular answer these days is "become an entrepreneur", "start your own business". I have seen lots of articles with the quote: "If you don't follow your dreams, you'll end up working for someone who did", but there is something about this statement I don't agree with... I would come back to it in a minute... In order to maximise your earning power and have the ability to invest in my business as an entrepreneur, you need to pursue a career or side hustle you are passionate about and create multiple streams of income. Becoming rich does not necessarily mean you have to become an entrepreneur. Our present society is a mixture of different persons of different family values. That's one of the major reasons why people have different understanding of an issue or situation. One from a family with high personal and moral values may not agree with the other who has his or her own values, and who feels they are justified and right. You see situations where people can't relate because of their parallel opinions and beliefs which are antagonist to each other. You see situations where people "mind their business" because they feel that the actions and activities of other persons, has no significant effect on them. It isn't just about what You can do alone, but who You know that can give You the opportunity to showcase what You can do. Referrals have changed a lot of lives. "She's my niece, give her the job".. Praying and Fasting may take you out of Egypt (slavery); it however takes conscious and continous learning (unlearning and relearning of habits) to take Egypt (slavery) out of you! 10, 25, 50, 100, or even 200 days of fasting is an excellent way to start your new year. You'll however have to get down to the task of breaking the self-sabotaging habits like procrastination, rage, impatience, fear, self-doubt, perfectionism, anti-sociability, timelessness, reckless spending, emotional/senseless eating and drinking, pride, addictions, obsessions, etcetera, that worked against you in 2017 so that 2018 won't end up looking like it – as your habits largely produce your results.
