Put your energy into it!

Image
A lot of persons got talents, aspirations and passions. But sometimes, one may feel like one is struggling to find an inner inspiration to push or motivate him/her. Sometimes one feels a lot confused on how and where to start. Sometimes, one's environment, friends, neighbours and family, don't favour, comprehend nor catalyze one's passions. One feels all alone, trying constantly to find some push. It's then time for such to stand up and push him/herself. The question is: Do you know what you want? Do you love what you want? Does it make you feel great about yourself? If YES, then go for it! Put your energy into it! Be positive about it! Even if you go alone, keep going! Hit your target and try not to miss!

Make the Quality count!

Musa Gift (MG) Do you know that Nollywood produces more movies than Hollywood annually, but Hollywood still rakes in more profit? Don't mistake "How far" for "How Well", Don't hurry through life. Some people simply hurry through life, through school, hurry into relationships, hurry into marriage, hurry through projects, hurrying through pretty much everything... Don't go fast, If you can't go Well! Quantity doesn't mean Quality. One good head will always be better than two bad ones! Stay Positive!

Jesus came into the world at a time when there was a lot of political unease. The Jews were under hard oppression from the Romans and there was a yearning for a messiah to liberate them. History and scriptures (Acts 5:36-37) has it that there were several attempts at a revolution but they all failed. All the Jews wanted was a powerful man that would lead a revolution and salvage them from the tyranny of the Romans. They didn't just hope in ignorance but were aware through the books of the law and prophets of a messiah that will come, so they waited in anticipation of a powerful man that will probably lead them in battle against the Romans to ensure the freedom of the Jewish nation from Oppression. Prophecies became fulfilled as the messiah, Jesus Christ came but not without a disappointment because he came from the lowest of backgrounds, born into the family of a nobody with no connection to the royal family of that time. At the onset of His ministry, the people especially his kin

For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11) A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great men (Proverbs 18:16) He who observes the wind will not sow; and he who regards the clouds will not reap (Ecclesiastes 11:4) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven (Matthew 5:16) ... admonish the idlers, encourage the faint hearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. Quotes for this Week

The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be (Ralph Waldo Emerson) You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand (Woodrow Wilson) Think, act and talk with enthusiasm and you'll attract positive results (Michael LeBoeuf) If you want to understand today, you have to search yesterday (Pearl S. You should let him stand right!

Image
Came across a post some months back, and well, the subject of the post was on how a lady ought to protect and keep her man from her bad friends, so he doesn't get snatched. The adviser was like telling her advisees never to take their fiancés to see their female friends to avoid stories that touch (you know, snatching things), at least until he has paid the bride price. But, hold on! Let me ask: You that kept him from your female friends so they don't snatch him; Are your female friends the only females in the world that can snatch a man? You are now "his protector", Voltron, defender of the powerless,.. Will you follow him to the office regularly? Will you go with him on his business trips? The bitter truth is that "it is not the lady's duty to keep her man. It is the man's duty to keep himself!" Don't get me wrong. You should play your part in the relationship to see that it survives and that you keep your man happy, but other t

The one that got away

Image
A few years ago, I was in a relationship with someone. My clearest memory of it; the recollection that is etched in brain matter was our first kiss. I remember because I had a funny thought while being kissed. It was like I stepped out of my body to watch the proceedings and the thought that popped into my mind was, "Mills & Boons novels got it right." That was it. I felt the proverbial electricity and my knees shook. That had never happened to me before. I decided to analyse why. You know me. I never miss a learning moment. I had been friends with the guy for a long time. We were in sync mentally and emotionally before we ever got physical. At the root of our relationship was friendship. When he travelled, I felt a physical space where he was supposed to be and a tiredness I couldn't explain. A little bit of colour went out of my world when he wasn't around. It is instructive that I loved him more at the end of the relationship than at the beginning. Suffice to

Keeping a healthy Heart (Part 2)

Image
Keeping one's heart healthy involves one ensuring that the heart and the blood vessels that supplies blood and oxygen to (/away) from one's heart are properly taken care of, and continue to function adequately. I'll talk about healthy eating in this part. • When you buy food and snacks, always check out the ingredients and be sure about what you're consuming and how much you're consuming • Cook and eat good and real foods, avoid junks • Avoid skipping breakfast, it's very necessary • Take fruits and vegetables • Eating more fiber is good for a healthy heart (rich fiber sources include nuts, whole grain cereals, fruits and vegetables) • Consume less sugar and salt (less salt is positive for a good blood pressure) • Take less saturated fats (which can be found in meat) and trans fats (which can be found in some processed foods). Foods that are high in unsaturated fats and whole grains are more healthy. • An omega-3 fatty acid

Keeping a healthy Heart

Keeping one's heart healthy involves one ensuring that the heart and the blood vessels that supplies blood and oxygen to (/away) from one's heart are properly taken care of, and continue to function adequately. We'll see some tips about one protecting and keeping a healthy heart. • Care about your Sleep. You know how it feels when you don't sleep enough. An average of six to eight hours of sleep is necessary daily. Less sleep can promote the build up of calcium in your blood vessels and this can promote heart diseases. • Regularly check your blood pressure, blood glucose levels and cholesterol levels. • Reduce stress, especially extreme and unwanted stress. • Carry out regular exercise; avoid a sedentary lifestyle; avoid staying in a particular position (like sitting) for hours without stretching, changing position or taking a break. • Take less alcohol (if you drink alcohol) and stay off smoking! Think Big by Ben Carson (with Cecil Murphey)

Image
This is a great inspiring book. I'm sure it must be a familiar one, especially since it's written by the well known neurosurgeon and politician (He's the current United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, under the Trump Administration), Benjamin Solomon Carson Sr. I read this book about four years ago. I'll share some few lessons I learnt from the book. • People aren't innately wrong-minded. Most times, general mental attitude is as a result of one's environment and what one opens up the mind to learn and believe. They need some reconditioning and reeducation. • Almost everyone makes mistakes in life. One important key is being "honest" with our mistakes. By being honest, we don't cover them up, but rather learn from them and allow others to learn from the mistakes as well. • No one can stop or block anyone from achieving what he or she wants to achieve or being what he or she wants to be. One can't blame any other person or

How Airplanes fly? (brief summary)

Image
I will love to write a little science about airplanes being able to fly. I'll only give a basic summary of a more detailed science. Photo Credit: freepik.com Four forces act on a flying airplane: the LIFT acting upward, the WEIGHT acting downwards, the THRUST acting forward, and the DRAG acting backwards. The LIFT is the force that makes the airplane move upward, and it is balanced by an opposite force, the WEIGHT which the plane exerts downwards and which is as a result of the plane's weight including the weight of people and loads on the plane. The THRUST is the force that makes the plane move forward, and it is balanced by a resistance force, the DRAG. Thus, for a plane to move forward, the THRUST must be greater than the DRAG; and for the same plane to move upwards, the LIFT must be greater than the WEIGHT. Airplanes got "engines" and they also got "wings". Normally, we should assume it's the engine that makes the plane fly, but u

You Attract Who You Think You Deserve

Image
"And then, there’s the matter of relationships. If you think that you don’t deserve much, you attract friends and partners into your life who won’t treat you very well. I’ll bet you know someone who always seems to go out with the “wrong” person. In fact, the last 29 people they’ve gone out with were wrong for them. Do you think this is a mere coincidence? Oh, no. There is a deeply held belief inside that individual that attracts these people into his or her life." (from Jeff Keller's Attitude is Everything) This is one reason why I either rebuke or stay away from persons who say negatives about relationship or try to paint a negative picture of the opposite sex. Their minds need some reorientation and their thoughts need repositioning. And if one has such persons around him/her, one should either rebuke them or do a change of friends and association. If one continually thinks negative - the world is bad, people are bad, the opposite sex is not trustworthy o

Getaway (2013)

Image
Getaway is an american action thriller movie that stars Ethan Hawke (Brent Magna), Selena Gomez (The Kid), and Jon Voight (The Voice). Photo Credit: Wikipedia It seems a bit weird picking this movie for this week. One could be asking what possible positives can one draw out from an action thriller movie? Anyway, we'll see what we can do about that today. It's crazy what love and family can make one do. Brent had to be loyal to 'The Voice' for that period his wife, Leanne, was in the hands of her kidnappers. He was a former race driver, a talented one, but also, one who must have also lost a bit of his touch as he quit race driving a while before then. But on the day his wife was kidnapped, his skills came back and he was at his best. This may be a weird lesson but has truth in it. Sometimes, one can do something, one can achieve something, but one needs some motivation, maybe something to trigger some "healthy anger" that will bring out that spi

Perception

Image
Perception is a synonym (another word) for Vision. Vision is the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination. Imagination is the act of forming new ideas. Therefore, VISION is the ability to think about the future by forming new ideas. Habakkuk 2:2 - And The LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision (thoughts about the future, by thinking in new ways) and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. This simply means that God expects us to be Thinkers, Builders, Innovators. In the creation of man God said "Lets us make man in our image after our likeness". This shows that God thought about us, He thought about something that was missing in the world. We are made in the image of God. You are meant to be like him (the creator), so whatever You are faced with, You have the ability to solve it, by thinking in new ways. When You have thought about it, write it down and run with it, then your joy shall be filled. Do it now!!

Your future is beautiful

Image
Today is Difficult. Tomorrow will be very Difficult. But The day after Tomorrow will be Very Beautiful. Some people give Up today. Most people give Up tomorrow. A few fight on till the day after tomorrow. When the going gets tough, don't give up. Instead get tougher; keep up the fight! Don't give up on your struggles and passions! At the end of the tunnel is a silver lining; after the dark night comes the bright dawn... Your Future is Beautiful! Love Y'all!! Musa Gift (MG)

Success Story: Charlie Chaplin

Today, I share the success story of Charles Spencer Chaplin, an English comic actor, film maker and composer. Though he's late (1889 - 1977), many still get inspired through his story. Photo Credit: Wikipedia Inspire  people through your Success Story. Write to us through our e-mail: plusliferelationship@gmail.com or through the Facebook page: Positive Life & Relationship Charlie Chaplin had a tough childhood. His Parents were music hall entertainers. His dad didn't support him financially; his mum did her best, but they couldn't get out of poverty and hardship. Mental illness made matters worse for the mum. The deteriorating financial condition forced Charlie to be sent to a workhouse (a charity institution that takes care of poor kids) at the age of seven. Later again, his mum had to readmit him at the workhouse. At age 9, on one of the number of times the mum was committed to mental asylum, Charlie and his brother went to stay with the dad, whom t

I got a video on my mobile which I watched over a week ago. It's a motivating one. The message on the video is from the album: "Feed your mind with Success (Motivational Speeches)" I'll share the message: There's a popular quote going around at the moment: The person you will be in 5 years is based on the books you read and the people you hang around with today This is quite true but it applies to everything else as well. The person you will be in the future is based on everything you do today ! The people you hang around with, but more so the people you listen to The opinions you believe The books you read or the videos you watch All the information you take in Positive or negative will affect your future The workouts you do or don't do: that will show up in the future. The foods you eat today will affect your future on a visual and energy level. The same is true with your thoughts and information . What you feed your mind will shape your f

Quotes for this Week

Today, I share some quotes from a friend, EndieUmunna. Let's be inspired by these words. • In as much as you want results, you have to love the process. Better results are yielded when you find true happiness in the process • It is better to have just 1 winner friend than to have 500 loser friends. That poison you call friendship, give it a break! • Stop wasting your time waiting for the defining moments. Define your life and then raise the rest of your life to meet you • Hardwork garnished with assorted patience is the only shortcut to success. Any other route is not sustainable!

To Ladies (especially the Young)

Image
Ladies will keep being pawns in relationships till they can come together; put aside their differences; LOVE each other; RESPECT each other; EDUCATE each other; PROTECT each other; stop the gossip and jealousy ; be CONCERNED about each other's happiness; and TEACH each other to be more LOGICAL than emotional at the appropriate time and situation. If they ever want to win in a society that's trying to emotionally frustrate them, this may be the best way! The world is shaped by relationships. The world is unstable because relationships are. The Masculine Gender are the head and have the lead role to take in building stable and right relationships, but unfortunately, not every member of the gender can do so at this present moment. Some are young in maturity and will take some while to understand how much they are responsible for. Some may understand this very late. The rest will never. Moreover, the generation of our parents have failed in educating this generation right

Attract Who And What You Need!

Image
We are NOT totally responsible for whatever happens to us, but WE ARE TOTALLY IN CONTROL of whatever happens to us. I have developed the habit of blaming myself first when I encounter any failure or negative outcome because I could have changed that, but I was unable! I was unable either because I lacked the knowledge, understanding or(/and) maturity to deal with the process before the result was produced. Often, I hear some ladies and some gentlemen put blames on the opposite, when they experience failed relationships. There's a funny phrase one hears; it goes like this: "All men are the same", " All ladies are the same". I was in the midst of some persons, few days ago, and after a relationship conversation, I felt pity for them. Some persons think negatively relationship-wise. Why would a single be pre-thinking cheating on his partner when he's married? How would one just grow the mentality that the opposite sex has a defect? It's no

Real Teachers are Builders, Motivators and Leaders

Image
Sometimes, a lot of students do feel that some of their Teachers (Teachers, Lecturers) do not fit into those shoes. Sometimes, students wonder if they had any passion for teaching/educating other persons before they came on board the education profession, or if it's just for the money or a different reason. Even if teaching/lecturing was a job one never wanted, which just came by chance after one couldn't get one's dream job; one has got the job now. Philip Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield said:  "Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well". This should be everyone's attitude to whatever one feels is worth doing. I've heard about statements and comments by teachers which tend to transfer the difficult experiences they had while a student, to the students they are supposed to bring up and help educate - negativity, that discourages education. Some of them would assume it to be normal or their own way of inspiring or pushing their students. They

Aftermath (2017)

Image
This is the cool movie of this week. I got mixed feelings watching this movie just before I write this. The lessons one could learn here are deep. Aftermath stars Arnold Schwarzenegger (Roman Melnyk), Scoot McNairy (Jacob "Jake" Bonanos) among others. Photo Credit: Wikipedia Some lessons I learnt from this movie: • A job/industry/organization which is a direct and high risk threat to lives, should be executed and managed most effectively. Personnel and equipment should be adequate and functional, respectively. Efficient backup and counter measures should be available and properly managed and executed. It was a bad day for Jake, the air traffic controller. His partner shouldn't have left him alone to monitor the air traffic. Jake tried to divide his attention among a number of responsibilities. The bad telephone also contributed to the crisis. It was late to stop the two airlines from colliding in mid air, and those 271 lives couldn't have been lost

Strength!

Image
Strength is the capacity of something to withstand great force or pressure. Psalm 27:1b: The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I fear. (That is, with God on our side, we are fearless, afraid of no one). We have been endowed with strength to withstand force or pressure. That's why when God created man he made us in His image and likeness, so everything you need is within. The only thing we need to do is get in contact with the strength we have. We can access that strength by having a relationship with God, that's only when we can understand ourselves, because He made us like Him. How can you understand who you are when you don't know and understand your creator. Our strength can only be accessed if we find our Creator. Let's seek strength from Him today.

Just keep pushing!

Mum OR Girlfriend (/Fiancée/Wife) Part 2

Image
Alright! This the Part 2 of the post title. I'll share the issue and my opinion for the Lady. A Lady complains of her Man tending to give much more attention to the Mum, than the attention she gets. Let's assume the Man loves his Lady and values her, but loves the Mum much more (Everyone loves his/her  family, and everyone should. Sometimes, the love is so great and there are reasons behind that, exceptional reasons most probably). How do both resolve this issue before it develops to a much more heated one? The Lady: Just like the Man, the she has to be sure that he loves her. If he actually doesn't, one knows the right thing to do is to back out and save oneself from some emotional, energy sapping stress. Let's okay that her man loves her. Next thing is to figure out what went wrong; what she must have done and if the attitude is a reaction to something she must have done (most Ladies know this anyway). If this is the case, she tries to fix things up and restore t

Mum OR Girlfriend (/Fiancée/Wife)

Image
I just came across a stimulus that pushed me to write this. I'll be sharing my opinion here, and I want to hope it's the most balanced opinion. Anyway, individuals are different in handling situations, and people have reasons why they handle a situation the way they do. Irrespective of this, it's always best to be logical and consider both sides of the coin, so one doesn't destroy his happiness in the process of trying to increase that happiness. Land for sale?

Image
Every Man deserves a Lady who would help him plan for a solid and better future. "Honey, let's buy and own a land; Honey, let's build our own house; Honey let's save for this or that. Let's put a hold on that our planned trip to the Bahamas; Let's see if we can get that money into starting that business we talked about"...  And not the type that always cries: "Honey, how about that car you promised me; How about those clothes you promised to buy me; those latest shoes I told you everybody in my office has; the Malaysian weaving we talked about oh. Honey I prefer the trip to Bahamas, we can always get money to start the business later"... Every Man deserves a Lady who has the wisdom to build and not just spend alone. Some ladies will spend and spend, salary after salary, year after year. One can't encourage the husband to buy a land or build a house, but one will always encourage him to buy bush meat and suya, and take one out re

The Power Of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale

Image
Today, I'll share few of what I learnt from this inspiring book by Norman Vincent Peale. It's an amazing and inspiring book, which I feel a lot of persons have read. But if you haven't, it's worth checking out. It's amazing to know that Peale's book is still inspiring lives long after written, and after he's gone (Peale died in 1993 at the age of 95 years). • Nothing is inherently powerful. But WE are powerful, and we can give strength and power to whatever we choose to give such to. One's mind gives strength and power to circumstances, things, situations. And the more one's mind focus on something, it gives greater strength and power to such thing. And when strength and power is given to something, that thing has some control and authority even over us, the giver of the power, and would exercise that authority until one recognizes it and decides to take away such authority. It's then left for us to decide what we should give greater strength a

Failure is never FAILURE

Image
When I was still a student in Pharmacy School (and even now), there is always one moody, tensed day in every semester. It's the day, the previous semester's results is released. You'll see a good number of students rushing to the faculty's notice board to check results (theirs and others). Some take snapshots and upload them on their class WhatsApp groups for those who don't like going to check it up on the notice board. The general calmness in the faculty is always something of another level, on such a day. Students who cleared all the courses feel happy and thankful to God. Some can be seen being excited, some others show no significant reaction to the success ("I expected it, of course!", they say to themselves). Some others feel for those who didn't clear (and those who failed badly), and who are feeling sad and unhappy because of it. They try to console them. You'll see the unhappy mood of those whose results were below expectation. Everyone
