Merry Christmas to You

It's the 25th! We celebrate and remember the Birth of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Before his Birth, we had lesser hope, we were oppressed, and under the captivity of the devil, because we had little appreciation of ourselves.

But His Birth ushered in a new dimension. It opened our eyes to the dominion, authority and control we have over life's challenges, circumstances and over the devil himself. It opened our hearts to the inherent ability and great power that lies deep within us – We can rule over life, sin, challenges... just by our thoughts, beliefs, words which are expressed by our actions.

So, as we celebrate this day, let us not forget whom we are and what we are capable of doing. We are stronger beyond our imagination.

"Behold, I have given you authority to thread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you." (Luke 10:19)

Let Love and Positivity fill our thoughts, our hearts, and our actions and may the purpose of Christ's Birth be fulfilled in our lives. Amen.

A lot of us must have heard that much sugar is not healthy, but a good number of persons still consume a large amount of it. Sugar is a carbohydrate and we have simple sugars (glucose, fructose, galactose) and more complex forms of it (sucrose, lactose, maltose). The sugar we consume is mostly in the form of sucrose, a disaccharide made up of glucose and fructose. When we consume sugar, it is metabolized to give us energy, but when high amounts of it is consumed, the body converts to body fats and store them. Sugar (sucrose) contains about 50% fructose, and fructose, which is actually the sweet part of sugar, responsible for the sweetness we taste when we take sugar is not good for us. Fructose is metabolized only by the liver which means there's a lot of work for one's liver to do. It has been an interesting week in the world of football. A couple of transfers were done, and we'll see those involving popular stars and some top clubs. Before we get to that, I want to say a big Congrats to Germany for their victory as the Confederations Cup Champions. He picked up his pen and started writing: • Last year, I had a surgery and my gallbladder was removed. I had to stay stuck to the bed due to this surgery for a long time. • The same year I reached the age of 60 years and had to give up my favourite job in the Publishing company in which I had spent 30 years of my life. • The same year I experienced the sorrow of the death of my father. • And in the same year my son failed in his medical exams because he had a car accident. The most popular answer these days is "become an entrepreneur", "start your own business". I have seen lots of articles with the quote: "If you don't follow your dreams, you'll end up working for someone who did", but there is something about this statement I don't agree with... I would come back to it in a minute... In order to maximise your earning power and have the ability to invest in my business as an entrepreneur, you need to pursue a career or side hustle you are passionate about and create multiple streams of income. Becoming rich does not necessarily mean you have to become an entrepreneur. Our present society is a mixture of different persons of different family values. That's one of the major reasons why people have different understanding of an issue or situation. One from a family with high personal and moral values may not agree with the other who has his or her own values, and who feels they are justified and right. You see situations where people can't relate because of their parallel opinions and beliefs which are antagonist to each other. You see situations where people "mind their business" because they feel that the actions and activities of other persons, has no significant effect on them. Hi Reader! Hope you're doing good? I was checking up on happiness and how it relates to the body and brain, chemically. I found some interesting stuffs that I'll love to share. There are four chemical substances that are related to happiness in the body: Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin and Endorphins (DOSE). There could be more than four but these four are major. My interest today is on Dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter which influences "reward-motivated behavior " in relation to happiness. By reward-motivated behavior, it is responsible for the excitement one feels when there's a task to be done with a reward attached. This reward can be a goal to be attained or landmark to be set.
