If you do these 3 things, your content won't convert
I'm not a prophet to have made such bold statement, but experience shows clearly that those who do these 3 things only create content for themselves and a few other people.
I know you don't want to keep throwing sachet water inside third mainland bridge, neither do you want to fetch water in a basket.
You want your content to increase your influence and maximize opportunities.
Let's get right into it...
You only talk about yourself always: Some people have PhD in selfishness. You can create 7 different contents and everything will be centered around you. You don't really care to talk about your readers, your audience or address their pains. It's either you are talking about what you had for breakfast, what someone close to you did and all those stuffs. Some even call it storytelling and yet, they fail to relate their stories back to their readers and how that story can help their readers.
It's okay to talk about yourself, it's the default thing human do, but limit it.
If you make it about them, they will make it about you.
You Speak in features and not in benefits: Over the weekend, I was chatting with my partner on a deal. It was his area of expertise and I wanted his professional judgment but he kept talking about features till I made him realize that clients don't care about features, all they care about are benefits.
I see many people make that mistakes too especially when they are prospecting and they are wondering why they aren't closing deals.
When you speak and write in benefits and not features, your content position you as an authority.
"Our cream is made of aloe Vera under safe and secure environment ".... It's features
"Our cream wipes out acne and the strongest of raches".... Benefit.
What benefits does your services provide?
Your call to action isn't engaging: "Book a session with me, Follow me on Instagram, Follow me on Twitter, like my Facebook page, share your thoughts" All in one content o.... I wonder, are you even worth all the stress?
Lots of people use complex and confusing call to action. The whole thing get confusing that your readers don't even know what action to take. I wonder who is more confused between you and the masquerade that chase mad man.
Cta are to generate engagement, it is to get your readers to join the dialogue. It is what create the buzz and from the buzz comes opportunities of all kinds.
As a rule of thumb, keep your cta simple, keep it engaging.
