Do not Just Acquire; Inspire!

There is a rising need to acquire things among youths in the twenty-first century. Many of the youths wants to acquire wealth, knowledge, fame and any thing that adds money to their bank accounts. But is acquisition all there is to life? Let's take for instance our Savior Jesus Christ. He acquired something but what He acquired became a source of restoration for many.

Jesus acquired Salvation by laying down His life. He acquired a name that is above every other name. But guess what?
He didn't acquire that for His own benefit! He did it for us!

In the same way, in all our acquisition, don't just acquire, You need to also inspire and bring hope to people around You.

Some years ago, I began to have some thoughts about life. Everyday, we come across people who put up false happiness. Everyone's trying to be truly happy, and everyone surely deserves that, because there's no life without happiness. But a lot of persons are much unhappy inside than they seem to be. Sometimes the pain they feel deep inside gets to a threshold, where they can't keep on putting up false happiness, and their true feelings are more often expressed. For a good number of persons, they redefine happiness, and their definition of happiness does not bring them true happiness, though it feels so at the beginning, but at the end, it only adds to the pain they already feel. Each time I hear things like the young people should be given a chance to lead, I laugh. I know we still have very good and competent young people that can be agents of transformation but they are in the tiniest minority. So many are quick to use the arguments of our past leaders attaining positions of leadership at very young ages, true but you must realise that they got there not because of their competency but because they were lucky to be among a few that were a bit enlightened in the wake of transition from the colonial era. There was an immediate need to transfer responsibility of leadership to any indigenous person that had some level of education but not because of their ingenuity. A lot of us have become used to using salt to kill earthworms when we encounter any in our houses. I've thought about this for a while now, but I recently decided to check it up and I'll share what I learnt about the science. Knowledge is obviously not the problem of our generation. Knowledge has greatly increased in our days, and keeps increasing by the day. I listen to people and I am amazed at how much they know. Knowledge about the things of God, especially, knows no bound. What then is our challenge? Application is. We are so busy acquiring, accumulating and dispensing knowledge that we do not have time left for application. Oh, my generation knows so much. But how much of what we know do we put to personal use? How much have we allowed all that we know to affect who we are and who we become? I am especially amazed when I see the way we dissect the Scriptures, and relate it to history, and give the original meanings of the words therein in their Greek translations and others.
