We wanted to check our result. Each one of us, was with a paper and a pen. The lecturer in charge asked for our matriculation numbers and one after the other, he was reeling off grades, GPA and CGPA. So there are a lot of myths, facts, and opinions out there about happiness. My intention, however, is not to support or discredit any one of them you may have come in contact with before. While it is true that happiness is relative, it is also true that personal happiness is what you make of life. Many people in the world today have different goals and ambitions. There is something which is nonetheless common to almost all of us and that is personal happiness. I have learnt that it is impossible to control the happenings around us but what we can control is our disposition towards these happenings. The major mistake a person can commit is to expect that life will always go as planned or as expected. A lot of us have become used to using salt to kill earthworms when we encounter any in our houses. I've thought about this for a while now, but I recently decided to check it up and I'll share what I learnt about the science. Before that, I'll share some points about earthworms: - They are in the lumbricus genus, there are various species of earthworms, but the common earthworm's scientific name is lumbricus terrestris - Their digestive system runs through the length of their skin - Earthworms respire through their skin - They are hermaphrodites (each one carries both male and female sex organs) - They lack either an internal skeleton or exoskeleton , but maintain their structure with fluid-filled coelom chambers that function as a hydrostatic skeleton.
