Its free of Charge
I was going round church today (on the day this was written), giving out Sunday School manuals to those who had not yet gotten, as we give out Sunday School manuals to the students free of charge in my parish, then a lady beckons on me, "can I have one", she says. I gave her a copy, and she hands me a crispy five hundred naira note, asking me how much it costs. I smiled and inform her that it's free of charge. she was like: "wow, thank you". Then a lady close by who observed what just happened, who wasn't interested in getting a copy initially, having heard that it's free, demanded for a copy. I handed her a copy of course and then headed back to my sit. Then later in the service, it hit me...
The lady who handed me the five hundred naira note, was willing to pay for a copy. Unknown to her however, it's already being paid for; on her behalf and for as many as would want a copy. If I wanted to be dubious like Judas baba or Bros Gehazi, I would take the money and quietly give her change.
The other lady who didn't wanted to ask for a copy initially because she thought she was going to be made to pay for it, not knowing it was free, reminds me of the man who was said to have paid for a plain ticket and refused to order any meals on board, thinking it would cost him extra money, not knowing it's been covered.
In same vain, many people go through life ignorantly paying for stuffs that has been paid for on their behalf. On the cross, Jesus Christ shed his blood, and when he gave up the ghost, he said: "IT IS FINISHED". On the cross, He paid a price for our Health, Wealth, Comfort, Peace, Joy, Happiness, Children, Job, Promotion, Success, Progress, you name it. And ignorantly, many go through life paying, being cheated, exploited by fake friends, wicked and greedy men, false prophets, fake pastors and teachers (bring green candle; pay fifty thousand naira for special prayers, special anointing oil from Jerusalem; red and yellow capsule, sorry candle; come and see me in my hotel room if you want the job; sleep with me; bring your mother for rituals; blah blah blah), and everyday people are paying for what the Saviour in his graciousness, and by his death on the cross has paid for. What a pity.
Don't let anybody, clergy or non clergy make merchandise of you Dear. Christ has paid the price for your overall well-being, don't pay for miracles, they are free of charge, paid for in full. If you do not have Jesus in your life, come to him today, and enjoy this bumper offers free of charge.
Others are like the other lady who didn't even want to pay, and when she realized it's free, she suddenly wanted a copy - like a hungry child who sees his friend eating but pretends like he is not hungry, just because he is afraid to ask.
Stop pretending like you don't like or want the good life, Christ paid for you to be able to have the good life. Hear him: "I came that you may have life and life in abundance". Hear him again: "I became poor that you may be rich". Hear him again "And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive a HUNDREDFOLD, AND shall inherit everlasting life".
Work with this mentality, everyday of your life, that in all you do, you have the right to succeed. Success is your birthright, you have a right to good health, excellence, breakthroughs, etcetera.
Don't be among those who it was said of them: "hitherto ye have not received because he ask not". Ask now, it has been paid for.
I leave you with this scripture:
"Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways, for thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee, thy wife/you shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house, thy children like olive plants round about thy table. BEHOLD, THAT THUS SHALL THE MAN/WOMAN BE BLESSED THAT FEARETH THE LORD." -Psalm 128:1-4 (KJV)
PS: Christ paid the price, so we ask, but that should not be used as a license to be lazy, and nonchalant about our lives, relationships and businesses.
