The face you give when you launch a new product and instead of people to buy they say "Congratulations, I am proud of you". Am I the only that has experienced this? When I first launched my first book, At the River Bank, I had a lot of people that told me Congratulations, the moral support was something else but that Moral support demoralized me and I gave into depression. Do you know why? Only one person purchased my book on the day I launched it. The person that even purchased the book was my friend, Promise Excel. 1. You don't need much before you start adding value. Start where you are with what you know. All I did was help people craft one simple sentence but the impact will last a lifetime. You can also add value with the little you know. 2. Activity is not necessarily productivity. I did not have to leave my home to organize a class in a posh place and ask people to meet with me there. There is a phenomenon in Psychology known as FALSE CONSENSUS EFFECT. This effect refers to the tendency to overestimate the extent to which others share our opinions, attributes, emotions, feelings and behaviors. Simply put, it means one thinking or assuming that others feel or think same way as they do. Why am I bringing this up today, or at all? A lot of times we fall prey to this effect. We misjudge and assume certain things to our very detriment and hurt... I suggested someone to him who was undoubtedly super skilled in what he does. His response was, "He's good BUT I can't deal with his attitude". Then I immediately recommended someone else who does not only have great skill but a great attitude too. You see, in life, great skills will take you to the top but only an excellent attitude that'll keep you there. While you're busy acquiring vocational and digital skill, take a moment to grab (as it were) interpersonal skills. Learn how to relate with people like human. Don't insist on being right.
