Success Story: How I went from a CGPA of 2.29 to 4.00 within a Semester

This is a Success Story shared by Olusola O'sola Fapohunda, a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure. ----- In early 2010, I went with about four other guys in my department - to visit our level registration officer. We wanted to check our result. Each one of us, was with a paper and a pen. The lecturer in charge asked for our matriculation numbers and one after the other, he was reeling off grades, GPA and CGPA. He eventually got to me and I heard a digit that sounded like I've been shot. God! Me! 2.29. I've earned myself Grade E in some three unit courses and my best course was APH301, which I had a B with a score of 69. About six months later, I went to check my 300 level second semester result and I now had a CGPA of 4.00. That was the happiest day of my University education. I was rolling on the floor of the room. Some years ago, I began to have some thoughts about life. Everyday, we come across people who put up false happiness. Everyone's trying to be truly happy, and everyone surely deserves that, because there's no life without happiness. But a lot of persons are much unhappy inside than they seem to be. Sometimes the pain they feel deep inside gets to a threshold, where they can't keep on putting up false happiness, and their true feelings are more often expressed. For a good number of persons, they redefine happiness, and their definition of happiness does not bring them true happiness, though it feels so at the beginning, but at the end, it only adds to the pain they already feel. Jeff Keller's Attitude is Everything, is another great book to read. Before I read this book, I thought it's going to be all about attitude (a person's behaviour, character as I understood it). It is all about attitude anyway, but a broader scope of it, one that I hadn't imagined and understood till I read the book. There's so much to learn, know, gain, from reading books. People who don't read books, or who hate reading are kinda dead in knowledge and such death most times reflects in their attitudes, which is a product of the vacuum in their mindsets. As I've done with the other books I've written about, I'll share a few of the many that can be learnt from Keller's book. • One's attitude is the person's window to the world.
