Four Captains, One Ship

After I got back from my lost journey, I was greeted by a small construction task. We all got together to get the work done without much stress. With six able bodied men, you would be forgiven to think we would get the work done in a world record shortest time. An hour into it without much progress, I knew there's fire on the mountain, or probably the village people were at work. Too much suggestions, opinions and ideas was the greatest undoing. Till I stepped up to make my stand regardless of the differences, in as much as getting the job done was our priority.

Then, the thought flew like an eagle.
Quite a number of us aren't taking the leadership position of our lives. We feel too young to make our voice heard. We leave our cockpit for others to control our ship. We let the noise get into our head and we never took charge of our life.

Ooh brethren, they can't direct your life successfully. The best they will ever do is to mould you to who they want you to be, not who you want to become. At the end of the day, they will be the first to ask you what your whole life was about. You are still there?

You may be consuming high amounts of sugar and it's unhealthy for you

A lot of us must have heard that much sugar is not healthy, but a good number of persons still consume a large amount of it. Sugar is a carbohydrate and we have simple sugars (glucose, fructose, galactose) and more complex forms of it (sucrose, lactose, maltose). The sugar we consume is mostly in the form of sucrose, a disaccharide made up of glucose and fructose. When we consume sugar, it is metabolized to give us energy, but when high amounts of it is consumed, the body converts to body fats and store them. Sugar (sucrose) contains about 50% fructose, and fructose, which is actually the sweet part of sugar, responsible for the sweetness we taste when we take sugar is not good for us. Fructose is metabolized only by the liver which means there's a lot of work for one's liver to do. You may come across a good person, a sincere lover, who's interested in you, but you're not ready at that moment, and end up losing him to someone else who's ready.. You're not ready because of the negative configuration that your past relationship(s) has created for your mind and it really shows in your attitude (I personally always detect it no matter how much you try to hide it). You have to take responsibility for the outcomes of your past relationships. And by this, you take POSITIVE actions not to be a victim of such again. Look into yourself critically, you'll see the wrong choices you made that led to the failed relationship(s). Learn from it, and make a wiser choice when someone comes seeking your attention. I love to talk about men. And the reason is very simple: • All men are unique. • They are our pride. • They are the beauty that we have as women. Most times, I tell my friends that when you treat your man like a King, he will worship you like a Queen. Never disrespect your man, he is the reason why people are calling you Madame. Stop looking down on him because you think he is already your husband, and so nothing can happen. I really wish I could say this out rather than have it written out. So help me read it out. Do It Yourself! I'm going to tell you something. Some years back, things were so difficult for my parents and us. It was the most difficult part of our lives. Then my dad lost entirely all his businesses. It was hard on him. Everything was gone. My mum had a clothing business she was doing. Everything was on her. Every responsibility was on her. She had entirely no choice but to carry this two-in-one cross herself. It came to a point where she had to take her lifeline. We were going to join in the struggle. I was ten while my younger brother was eight. People who stand for something are those who are consistent in their choices. Consistency helps build Reputation. Consistency helps build Result. Consistency is what we do repeatedly no matter what. The difference between EFFORT and EFFECT is Consistency. We cannot be consistent if we don't stand for something. Every organization is built on the service delivery and experience and this both is a derivative of consistency. Great Organization are those who have standard brand, and those who have standard brand are men and women who are consistent in their dealings. The best of brands have standard! It seems I have been interested in emotional themes for sometime now; anyway, it's cool understanding some stuffs about emotions. Happiness and You (Dopamine)

Hi Reader! Hope you're doing good? I was checking up on happiness and how it relates to the body and brain, chemically. I found some interesting stuffs that I'll love to share. There are four chemical substances that are related to happiness in the body: Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin and Endorphins (DOSE). There could be more than four but these four are major. My interest today is on Dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter which influences "reward-motivated behavior " in relation to happiness. By reward-motivated behavior, it is responsible for the excitement one feels when there's a task to be done with a reward attached. This reward can be a goal to be attained or landmark to be set.
