Deal with the past and let it be past

In the name of being scared of getting hurt again, I formed a terrible defensive mechanism that only made it possible for insecurity to plague my mind more and more.
Now, I have a friend who in d name of not getting hurt again developed a nice but subtly dangerous defensive mechanism of maintaining a neutral mind and not committing totally to any relationship.

These two types of metaplastic changes in one's heart condition as a result of previously broken relationships are terrible strongholds that if not dealt with hinders the enjoyment of a relationship that could otherwise have been blissful.

Stop allowing the hurts of the past hinder you from enjoying the beauty of a genuine relationship today, all in name of being scared of getting hurt again.
