It has been an interesting week in the world of football. A couple of transfers were done, and we'll see those involving popular stars and some top clubs. Before we get to that, I want to say a big Congrats to Germany for their victory as the Confederations Cup Champions. Many didn't see that victory coming from the beginning when the team selection was announced. The young players did a good job proving themselves, and I can't wait to see Germany's World Cup squad. Let's now look at the completed transfers within the past 7 days: • Yesterday, July 7, Jonathan Walters, 33, completed a transfer from Stoke City to Burnley, on a two year deal worth £3m. • On Thursday, July 6: Vincent Iborra completed a move to Leicester City from Sevilla. A lot of us must have heard that much sugar is not healthy, but a good number of persons still consume a large amount of it. Sugar is a carbohydrate and we have simple sugars (glucose, fructose, galactose) and more complex forms of it (sucrose, lactose, maltose). The sugar we consume is mostly in the form of sucrose, a disaccharide made up of glucose and fructose. When we consume sugar, it is metabolized to give us energy, but when high amounts of it is consumed, the body converts to body fats and store them. Sugar (sucrose) contains about 50% fructose, and fructose, which is actually the sweet part of sugar, responsible for the sweetness we taste when we take sugar is not good for us. Fructose is metabolized only by the liver which means there's a lot of work for one's liver to do. It is toxic to the liver especially in those who consume large amount of sugar (the human body is not meant to consume so much fructose). Also, sugar is ADDICTIVE due to fructose. It is funny that the wrong people get themselves into leadership while the good people have no chance to perhaps because they have refused to cut corners and do all the negative maneuvers done by indecent people to get into leadership. This is my personal philosophy, I can't use wrong to achieve a good. If I have to do so many wrongs like bribing, rigging, killing, lying, deceiving to get into power because I have good intentions, I'd better kept my good intentions to myself than do such. Recently there has been a clamour for young people to lead, I buy this move but I still have great fears because young people in Nigeria are not ready for leadership. I say this because of what I have noticed over time, at least I get to talk to so many young people and the orientation is poor. We just have an improved version of mental and moral weakness compared to our current leaders. I have my thoughts about "Prayer". Personally, I had believed more on faith and confidence, than on Prayer. I say this because I've come across a number of persons who believe so much on Prayer, but cannot inspire or give someone some positive vibes in a time of difficulty. You see people who are fast to advise one to pray (and probably fast) when one shares a situation or personal challenge, without doing some brain work and examining physical factors that could've led to the person's challenge and then trying to ensure those physical factors are taken care of before going spiritual. Personally, when talking to people, once I'm trying to relate something with you and you're fast to throw in that spiritual leg, I stop and I'll probably not relate stuffs with you next time.
