God has no dual personality, God is His Word and whatsoever He says

August 21, the West stood still as the Sun blacked out for a few minutes to cast a most beautiful dusk on the earth. It was the Eclipse of the sun - the ones we read in geography textbooks. It's been 99 years since that last happened and this time around, 7 million Americans watched beneath protective sunglasses as the moon shone like a ring of silvery glass and the sun seemed cast into a dark, eternal abyss.
To make a fetish of the event, some people worshipped, some prayed. To many, it was an event to remind them how real, if not how great, God is. Indeed, God must be beautiful!

This would be until August 25, when Hurricane Harvey, a category 4 storm, swept through Texas destroying everything in its trail. Nearly 50 people died in its wake. At home in Markurdi Nigeria, a mudslide toppled 5000 houses and scores of lives were buried in cold blood. It's not long that Sierra Leone mourned their dead from natural disaster. The Phillippinos have had its share of storm surges and life threatening floods.

Now, a Hurricane with yet another cute name, Irma, flattened the Bahamas and Virgin Islands. By next week, Florida is expected to be devastated by this monstrous wind. God must really by ugly lately and he obviously has a loud way of showing it!

You see, there is a gross inconsistency when we describe God by our experiences. He becomes beautiful when we see an eclipse and ugly when an earthquake threatens our lives.

No. God has no dual personality. He is not schizophrenic since he is not defined by the fences of our day to day events. His person is unchanging regardless of seasons and times.
God is not a beautiful flower in spring or a rising tide of the ocean. I dare say, Nature cannot correctly teach you about God. To put it bluntly, God is NOT nature.

God is His Word and whatsoever it says! You know His word, you know God! His word trumps our troubles or triumphs. His word is steadfast, secure. You can rest in it whether you see a beautiful, tender tree or an ugly, ravenous bear.
I speak His word to all who suffer grave disasters. Comfort comes with His word!
