It came to my mind that I should create a section on this blog that's strictly for discussion, contributing positively to issues and sharing of ideas and opinions.

False Evidence Appearing Real

I can remember my first steps going before a crowd. I was asked to take the Bible reading in Church on a Sunday. By the time I mounted the pulpit, I had to grip the pulpit for support because I just discovered that I could no longer stand straight again out of fear and nervousness. I was shaking like a dry leaf in harmattan. I felt I was going to have a seizure or just fall and embarrass my generation. My legs were wobbling, it was like I had no bone in them. I couldn't look at the crowd, it was terrible, and I can't remember how I survived the few minutes it took for me to finish the Bible reading. I never wanted to get there again, but next Sunday, I was back there, and the Sunday after that, and every other Sunday, and there we have it. Truth be told, I believe in that proverbial saying "shoe have sizes". A man who doesn't recognize the relevance of his shoe size will end up with an over sized or an under sized shoe. It's not all Ladies, that one can afford. No matter one's bank account, even if you're Nigeria's richest man, Dangote. Financial capacity aside, there are some Ladies beyond your mental capacity, who reason now beyond the way you will in the next five years (no insult intended, just reality). I have met such Ladies. Then there's Spiritual capacity. As a Pastor, or upcoming Pastor (If such title exists), or one with the Call of God on one's life; and who gets married to a Lady or a Man, who has no interest in God or the Church, how would one cope with one's partner who has some added spiritual responsibilities as a Preacher of the Gospel, or/and a Partner who doesn't feel okay or appreciate your calling as a Spiritual leader? Some years ago, I began to have some thoughts about life. Everyday, we come across people who put up false happiness. Everyone's trying to be truly happy, and everyone surely deserves that, because there's no life without happiness. But a lot of persons are much unhappy inside than they seem to be. Sometimes the pain they feel deep inside gets to a threshold, where they can't keep on putting up false happiness, and their true feelings are more often expressed. For a good number of persons, they redefine happiness, and their definition of happiness does not bring them true happiness, though it feels so at the beginning, but at the end, it only adds to the pain they already feel. At the same time, their search for happiness causes pains to others who are averagely happy or whose happiness is below average. Relationships are part of life. IPad, Android Phones Versus Bible

Yesterday (on the day this was written), I watched Pastor Chris Oyakilome live as he preached. He used his iPad to read out scriptures. Later in the day, I saw a post on Instagram, and one guy like that insulted Pastor Chris for using iPad, instead of his Bible. I laughed at the man's ignorance. I remember an Uncle of mine was invited to a Church. He went there with his iPad, and someone asked him: "Sir, where is your Bible?” He showed him his 10.1 inches Pad. “But Sir,” he said, “This is not a Bible, this is iPad, you need to carry your Bible. You're not a good preacher, if you don't preach with your Bible," one of the pastors said. Now this is my point: Before the advent of printing press, the scriptures were originally written on a scroll! The ten commandments were written on a stone! Not on a Book called “Holy Book”. Drug Abuse and Misuse (Part 2)

Today, I want to talk about different drugs that are commonly misused/abused and the adverse effects that results from such. • Antibiotics: "Common cold" and "sore throat" are two challenges that prompts a lot of persons to take antibiotics as a combat measure. However, both are viral infections and NOT bacterial infections. Antibiotics have no effect on them. Even most cases of bronchitis are viral infections and can't be treated with antibiotics. Also, bacterial ear infections should be treated with ear drops rather than oral antibiotics which have side effects. Most coughs and flu are viral infections too, and do not benefit from bacterial antibiotic therapy. Tetracycline, Metronidazole (flagyl) and Ciprofloxacin are three commonly abused Antibiotics. A lot of persons self medicate when they have symptoms like stomach upset. There are other options than taking Antibiotics at the slightest of symptoms. Getaway is an american action thriller movie that stars Ethan Hawke (Brent Magna), Selena Gomez (The Kid), and Jon Voight (The Voice). Photo Credit: Wikipedia It seems a bit weird picking this movie for this week. One could be asking what possible positives can one draw out from an action thriller movie? Anyway, we'll see what we can do about that today. It's crazy what love and family can make one do. Brent had to be loyal to 'The Voice' for that period his wife, Leanne, was in the hands of her kidnappers. He was a former race driver, a talented one, but also, one who must have also lost a bit of his touch as he quit race driving a while before then. But on the day his wife was kidnapped, his skills came back and he was at his best. This may be a weird lesson but has truth in it.
