I'll share some relationship quotes by a friend and senior colleague of mine, Musa Gift. If you've read a lot of the previous posts on the blog, you'll definitely see a number of his posts especially on the Family and Relationship label.

I was with my parents over the weekend. It was a great time with them. Our conversations especially when I am about leaving them after a visit will end with a prayer. But this time a good part of the conversation centered on marriage and so was about 86% of the prayer on getting married from the right family and settling down well....hmmm. You see, we all have this almighty question to answer now and then. In fact, life in Nigeria is ideally viewed in a particular cycle – Birth - Go to School - Graduate from University - National Youth Service - Work or Business - Marriage and Children, and then Work, Work, Business, Business - Raise Children - Work, Work, Business, Business - Death. I read this book about four years ago, and it was a big turning point for me. Much was learnt, I'll share few of them today. You should check it out. The lessons: Death begins when one stops learning, and ageing starts from one's mind, not one's body. One remains young as far as he or she keeps learning; One starts crashing once he or she stops pushing. One's ability to excel mentally is paralyzed once one stops trying and accepts that the results obtained is the best he or she can attain; One's life becomes a burden when one's life is void of progress. Young people listen... You may not have the best school or opportunities like me, but at least you have something like Nigeria at the moment which is a shithole. Yet, we can make this shithole a huge vast intellectual brain reserve. The metaphor of the shithole is that it is a conduit a passage for remnant.
