Going back to some ancient landmarks reminds us to Never Give Up

Ten years ago, in a Bible quiz competition in my church's youth ministry, I won and was given a book. I didn't see the need for the book then though I read a bit of it and dumped it in our library.

Fast forward ten years later, that book is blessing me now. God sent a book to me ten years ahead because he knows and has everything about me all figured out.
Go back to your old books, diaries, jotters, primary and secondary school books, and you will have a reason never to give up.

I stumbled over an Essay I wrote in JSS2 and I had to reassure myself I am super intelligent, I can't believe that came from a twelve year old. Seriously I cannot write with such dexterity now.

In the course of life, we go through a lot of challenges and failures that tries to shatter us and make us feel we are not good enough but go back to the ancient landmarks, there are some things God told you in your teens that you may have forgotten. You must watch over prophecies in your life and pray them to fulfilment.

Success Story: How I went from a CGPA of 2.29 to 4.00 within a Semester

This is a Success Story shared by Olusola O'sola Fapohunda, a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure. ----- In early 2010, I went with about four other guys in my department - to visit our level registration officer. We wanted to check our result. Each one of us, was with a paper and a pen. The lecturer in charge asked for our matriculation numbers and one after the other, he was reeling off grades, GPA and CGPA. He eventually got to me and I heard a digit that sounded like I've been shot. God! Me! 2.29. I read this book about four years ago, and it was a big turning point for me. Much was learnt, I'll share few of them today. You should check it out. The lessons: Death begins when one stops learning, and ageing starts from one's mind, not one's body. One remains young as far as he or she keeps learning; One starts crashing once he or she stops pushing. One's ability to excel mentally is paralyzed once one stops trying and accepts that the results obtained is the best he or she can attain; One's life becomes a burden when one's life is void of progress. And when one's brain isn't working towards anything, it becomes a weight on the body. The brain is motivated when it sees something ahead, something to work towards for; One's success does not demand prayer and fasting, as much as engaging one's senses positively. So, how do I start this post? Emmm... Okay, let me lay a foundation. First and foremost, my God is a Great God. Secondly, He is not a lazy God, and; Thirdly, He is thoughtful. He thinks things through, starting what He has already finished and finishing what He starts. I write this post this day to address no body else but my brothers and sisters in Christ. I have read through and through the Bible, and no where have I seen God prescribe Grace without Labour. No where. Yes the Bible say in Isaiah 1:9 - "If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land " and in Philippians 4:19 - "my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in Glory". A lot of us have become used to using salt to kill earthworms when we encounter any in our houses. I've thought about this for a while now, but I recently decided to check it up and I'll share what I learnt about the science. Before that, I'll share some points about earthworms: - They are in the lumbricus genus, there are various species of earthworms, but the common earthworm's scientific name is lumbricus terrestris - Their digestive system runs through the length of their skin - Earthworms respire through their skin - They are hermaphrodites (each one carries both male and female sex organs) - They lack either an internal skeleton or exoskeleton , but maintain their structure with fluid-filled coelom chambers that function as a hydrostatic skeleton. Jeff Keller's Attitude is Everything, is another great book to read. Before I read this book, I thought it's going to be all about attitude (a person's behaviour, character as I understood it). It is all about attitude anyway, but a broader scope of it, one that I hadn't imagined and understood till I read the book. There's so much to learn, know, gain, from reading books. People who don't read books, or who hate reading are kinda dead in knowledge and such death most times reflects in their attitudes, which is a product of the vacuum in their mindsets. As I've done with the other books I've written about, I'll share a few of the many that can be learnt from Keller's book. • One's attitude is the person's window to the world.
