The 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup is just less than 48 hours to be done with. It's been an interesting week with the two interesting semi final games played on Wednesday, June 28, and Thursday, June 29. After Portugal qualified as Group winners of Group A, they booked a semi final encounter with Chile, runners up of Group B, on Wednesday. It was the most interesting game of the cup so far, with the winner decided by penalties. Claudio Bravo, the Manchester City and Chilean goalkeeper and captain turned hero as he saved all three penalties, taken by Ricardo Quaresma, João Moutinho and Nani, while Chile scored all three of theirs. The other encounter between Group B winners, Germany and Group A runners up, Mexico ended in a convincing win for Germany as they put four goals past Ochoa, the Mexican goalkeeper while Mexico could only reply with a goal, though a stunning and long distance one by Marco Fabian, from a free kick. Principle versus Formula

Productivity is better than Activity and Principle is better than formula. Principles will birth productivity whereas Formulas will only produce activity. For example, It is possible to sleep four hours a day and achieve significantly less than someone who sleeps eight hours a day, while claiming anybody that sleeps above four hours is lazy. When it comes to success, there might be principles but not formulas (I mean mindless copying). Some people just copy too much, not seeing that a lot of factors are involved. The most important thing is to learn the principles and tailor it to your unique situation. Make your work time count. I remember students back in school who claimed to be reading all night (and they were) but had little or nothing to show in their result and there were others who never went through that stress and made straight A's. It is good to look out for working formulas but it's more important to know what works for you and so you can manipulate the formula...

Success Story: How I went from a CGPA of 2.29 to 4.00 within a Semester

This is a Success Story shared by Olusola O'sola Fapohunda, a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure. ----- In early 2010, I went with about four other guys in my department - to visit our level registration officer. We wanted to check our result. Each one of us, was with a paper and a pen. The lecturer in charge asked for our matriculation numbers and one after the other, he was reeling off grades, GPA and CGPA. He eventually got to me and I heard a digit that sounded like I've been shot. God! Me! 2.29. I've earned myself Grade E in some three unit courses and my best course was APH301, which I had a B with a score of 69. About six months later, I went to check my 300 level second semester result and I now had a CGPA of 4.00. That was the happiest day of my University education. I was rolling on the floor of the room. Many people expect life to be easy. Even as a Christian, there is no crown without a cross. Many people wish they can just wish suffering away, deny it exists or drink it away. Suffering is how the spirit of man grows, how it learns to discipline itself from the incessant demands of the wayward flesh. Suffering people are growing people. But does that mean we should desire suffering? No, we should not desire suffering but neither should we resist it. Because what we resist persists. We should not try to hide from suffering. Like a bully, we stand up to it, pull it in the beard and find out that it was just an attachment meant to scare us. Suffering is not bad in itself and will only cease when you have learned your lesson from it. Adversity is the road map to prosperity just as failure is the step stones to Success.
