You Deserve Better

In case no one ever told you, you have millions of mili traces and biological characters that distinguishes you from every other person who has existed, who will exist and who is yet to exist.

When people come to tell you to settle for less, remember you deserve better than less.

When you feel someone is the only option you got no matter how badly they treat you, baby girl, you deserve better.

Because they did you a favor in the past and now they feel they can use you for it, my brother, you deserve better.

You may not have money. Your parents may not, don't slide yourself to the level where you feel you can't be whoever you want to be. You deserve better.

He has been physically abusing you in that relationship, emotionally you are a wreck. Princess, you deserve better.

She no longer loves you like she used to, you know she's got her attention elsewhere, my man, you deserve better.

You deserve to be a Queen.
You deserve to be a King.
You deserve a good life.
You deserve a better living.
You deserve a better spouse.
You deserve better friends.
Mostly importantly, you deserve to be happy.

Even when Jude is no longer here to make you these posts, don't forget that you deserve better.

Yesterday (on the day this was written), I watched Pastor Chris Oyakilome live as he preached. He used his iPad to read out scriptures. Later in the day, I saw a post on Instagram, and one guy like that insulted Pastor Chris for using iPad, instead of his Bible. I laughed at the man's ignorance. I remember an Uncle of mine was invited to a Church. He went there with his iPad, and someone asked him: "Sir, where is your Bible?” He showed him his 10.1 inches Pad. “But Sir,” he said, “This is not a Bible, this is iPad, you need to carry your Bible. You're not a good preacher, if you don't preach with your Bible," one of the pastors said. Now this is my point: Before the advent of printing press, the scriptures were originally written on a scroll! The ten commandments were written on a stone! Not on a Book called “Holy Book”. Another cool movie to talk about. It's based on the novel by Robin Palmer. Geek Charming stars Sarah Hyland (Dylan Schoenfield), Matt Prokop (Josh Rosen), Sasha Pieterse (Amy Loubalu), among others. Photo Credit: Wikipedia Some things I learnt from the movie: • Challenging Yourself to something different and new, can teach you more and help bring out some uniqueness in You. Josh's movie on a human subject (Dylan) was a big challenge to execute. Most of the other persons involved in the Puget sound film festival, picked a non human subject. As an aspiring film maker, one of a very young age, a documentary on a human subject was something so big and rare, and very challenging. Josh picked up the challenge, one which didn't just help him win the festival, but also helped him discover the real personality of Dylan; how her mum meant so much to her and how the loss of her mum when she was eight years old had affected her and shaped her social life. I read this book about four years ago, and it was a big turning point for me. Much was learnt, I'll share few of them today. You should check it out. The lessons: Death begins when one stops learning, and ageing starts from one's mind, not one's body. One remains young as far as he or she keeps learning; One starts crashing once he or she stops pushing. One's ability to excel mentally is paralyzed once one stops trying and accepts that the results obtained is the best he or she can attain; One's life becomes a burden when one's life is void of progress. And when one's brain isn't working towards anything, it becomes a weight on the body. The brain is motivated when it sees something ahead, something to work towards for; One's success does not demand prayer and fasting, as much as engaging one's senses positively.
