Passing by a church over the weekend, my thoughts revolved about a noticeable trend that have stayed in Nigeria, I believe for about a decade or so. You must have observed same. Churches in recent years now use Religious broadcasting (which is broadcasting by religious organizations, usually with a religious message) to conduct LIVE services. So, a head quarter church in any part of the country can easily broadcast to any of their satellite churches, and you see people in this satellite churches agreeing and seeing visible results. Several years ago, people will never try that. They will wonder why you should be looking at somebody in a box, and be dancing, singing and even believe same for miracles. What foolishness? You can either carry the pains of your past as excess baggage or convert it into a fuel of love to propel you into your greatness. The choice is yours, because the past is gone and cannot be undone. However, the meanings we ascribe to the tragedies of our past is hardwired into our subconscious and dictates most of our thought processes and decision-making in the present. The way we interpret those events can be rewired to give positive meanings to our pain. We must see those ugly experiences as part of a grand design that is intended to bring out the beauty in us. Yesterday night (the night before the day this was written), I was having a nap, at the NIFES UNIPORT President's office, when Brother Daniel came to me and said: “Sir, we have a new person, he is stranded. And he needs a place to lodge for the night”. I was tired. I told him; “See to it that he finds rest”. Then he replied me: “he is a Muslim”. I said to him again; “that is not a problem. Just ask him basic information and tell him the etiquette of the secretariat. Also do a security check”. This is the normal pocedure for any one who comes around, because many have come in such way and at midnight they stole something. Then, I zoomed, off to sleep. Some years ago, I began to have some thoughts about life. Everyday, we come across people who put up false happiness. Everyone's trying to be truly happy, and everyone surely deserves that, because there's no life without happiness. But a lot of persons are much unhappy inside than they seem to be. Sometimes the pain they feel deep inside gets to a threshold, where they can't keep on putting up false happiness, and their true feelings are more often expressed.
