• On Thursday, July 27:

Chelsea loaned three of their players: Jamal Blackman (Sheffield United), Michael Hector (Hull City) and Tomas Kalas (Fulham).

• On Tuesday, July 25:

Izzy Brown was also loaned to Brighton from Chelsea.

• On Monday, July 24:

West Ham completed a £16m signing of Javier Hernandez from Bayern Leverkusen.

Manchester City completed a £52m signing of Benjamin Mendy from Monaco.

Juventus completed a £35m signing of Federico Bernardeschi from Fiorentina.

Mason Mount was loaned by Chelsea to Vitesse Arnhem.

• On Sunday, July 23:

Manchester City completed a £26.5m signing of Danilo from Real Madrid.

• On Saturday, July 22:

West Ham completed the signing of Marko Arnautovic from Stoke City.

Middlesbrough completed a £5m signing of Darren Randolph from West Ham.

Roma completed a £4.5m signing of Aleksandar Kolarov from Manchester City.

I am a member of "The Let's Talk About Series" community. I'll be sharing notes from one of the sessions we had this year. The session was on Olajumoke Adenowo. ---------- (Diligent Amaka speaking) Olajumoke Olufunmilola Adenowo (born in 1968) is an award-winning Nigerian architect, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, as well as a speaker, radio host, and author. She is the founder of the boutique architecture and interior design firm AD Consultin, based in Lagos, Nigeria. CNN described her as "Africa's Starchitect" and The Guardian (Nigeria) has described her as "the face of Architecture in Nigeria. Adenowo has several philanthropic ventures. In 1999, she founded the Awesome Treasures Foundation (ATF), a faith-based NGO in Lagos, Nigeria. Success Story: How I went from a CGPA of 2.29 to 4.00 within a Semester

This is a Success Story shared by Olusola O'sola Fapohunda, a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure. ----- In early 2010, I went with about four other guys in my department - to visit our level registration officer. We wanted to check our result. Each one of us, was with a paper and a pen. The lecturer in charge asked for our matriculation numbers and one after the other, he was reeling off grades, GPA and CGPA. He eventually got to me and I heard a digit that sounded like I've been shot. God! Me! 2.29. I've earned myself Grade E in some three unit courses and my best course was APH301, which I had a B with a score of 69. About six months later, I went to check my 300 level second semester result and I now had a CGPA of 4.00. That was the happiest day of my University education. I was rolling on the floor of the room. A lot of us have become used to using salt to kill earthworms when we encounter any in our houses. I've thought about this for a while now, but I recently decided to check it up and I'll share what I learnt about the science. Before that, I'll share some points about earthworms: - They are in the lumbricus genus, there are various species of earthworms, but the common earthworm's scientific name is lumbricus terrestris - Their digestive system runs through the length of their skin - Earthworms respire through their skin - They are hermaphrodites (each one carries both male and female sex organs) - They lack either an internal skeleton or exoskeleton , but maintain their structure with fluid-filled coelom chambers that function as a hydrostatic skeleton. As Christians, we are not in any battle with the devil. There is no battle again. Christ defeated the devil and made a public example of him. Why still fight an already won battle? The only thing we do is confirming and enforcing the defeat. In the military it is called a mop up operation. We are only soldiers assigned to our immediate environments to ensure criminals don't infiltrate the already conquered territory. We have the upper hand and full control. Young people listen... You may not have the best school or opportunities like me, but at least you have something like Nigeria at the moment which is a shithole. Yet, we can make this shithole a huge vast intellectual brain reserve. The metaphor of the shithole is that it is a conduit a passage for remnant. When I was a kid, I saw the Germans convert shit to energy for cooking and fertiliser. You have a brain young people, use it. Young Nigerians, we do not have a future in our present state. Let us start creating one. The beautiful thing is that we have all the resources we ever need.. to start with... And that is enough problem, yeah and as long as there are problems, huge problems in Nigeria, then the future is bright, as we take responsibility.
