The Foundation is Important, Yes; so is the roofing too. Beautiful childhood memories I have, maybe the most beautiful ever told (at least that was the one I witnessed, don't know of any other). God bless our parents who wore us lovely clothes and took us to church, - to children ministry which was so much fun. Virtually everything was composed into song; Bible study, Memory verses, etcetera. There would always be rhyme and rhythm, melody and harmony. We would dance, sing on top of our voices, laugh so hard and feel all excited! I remember kingdom dance, we usually were the front liners shaking our entire being in our beautiful attires, panty hose and the rest. We would eat biscuits, celebrate birthdays, pray with tightly closed eyes, give special numbers... You may be consuming high amounts of sugar and it's unhealthy for you

A lot of us must have heard that much sugar is not healthy, but a good number of persons still consume a large amount of it. Sugar is a carbohydrate and we have simple sugars (glucose, fructose, galactose) and more complex forms of it (sucrose, lactose, maltose). The sugar we consume is mostly in the form of sucrose, a disaccharide made up of glucose and fructose. When we consume sugar, it is metabolized to give us energy, but when high amounts of it is consumed, the body converts to body fats and store them. Sugar (sucrose) contains about 50% fructose, and fructose, which is actually the sweet part of sugar, responsible for the sweetness we taste when we take sugar is not good for us. Fructose is metabolized only by the liver which means there's a lot of work for one's liver to do. It is toxic to the liver especially in those who consume large amount of sugar (the human body is not meant to consume so much fructose). Also, sugar is ADDICTIVE due to fructose. This said exam is aimed at segregating the class into:- Sciences, Commercials and Arts; as the students transit to Senior Secondary School level. Those that score well above average are moved to sciences. The school management naturally assumes this category to be the most intelligent of the bunch and they surreptitiously bestow upon them the responsibility to become the future Medical doctors and Engineers. Those whose scores were average are moved to commercials because they are terms as those whose brains lack the capacity to comprehend Physics, Chemistry and Biology. They are better of going into the world of business. And those whose scores are below average are moved to Arts. These ones are characterised as dullards and olodo rabbatas. I started out from the bottom and I was never meant to rise. My father strolled out on me before I was even born and my mother did same when I was 11! At that age, I was given to a stranger who took me on a journey that was supposed to be my last which eventually became my first. We travelled by road and after two days, we got to Tudu park in Accra. He gave me 11600 cedis and asked me to wait for him to return but he never did. I was left stranded in a strange land with a strange tongue I could neither speak nor understand. With nothing but 11600 cedis, Primary Three education and a choice to either die or live, I was set loose into the Arena. But for me not to die like a coward, I chose to fight. Hi Reader! Hope you're doing good? I was checking up on happiness and how it relates to the body and brain, chemically. I found some interesting stuffs that I'll love to share. There are four chemical substances that are related to happiness in the body: Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin and Endorphins (DOSE). There could be more than four but these four are major. My interest today is on Dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter which influences "reward-motivated behavior " in relation to happiness. By reward-motivated behavior, it is responsible for the excitement one feels when there's a task to be done with a reward attached. This reward can be a goal to be attained or landmark to be set. Some years back, things were so difficult for my parents and us. It was the most difficult part of our lives. Then my dad lost entirely all his businesses. It was hard on him. Everything was gone. My mum had a clothing business she was doing. Everything was on her. Every responsibility was on her. She had entirely no choice but to carry this two-in-one cross herself. It came to a point where she had to take her lifeline. We were going to join in the struggle. I was ten while my younger brother was eight.
