Reframe the meaning of your past experiences to be able to excel in the present

You can either carry the pains of your past as excess baggage or convert it into a fuel of love to propel you into your greatness. The choice is yours, because the past is gone and cannot be undone. However, the meanings we ascribe to the tragedies of our past is hardwired into our subconscious and dictates most of our thought processes and decision-making in the present. The way we interpret those events can be rewired to give positive meanings to our pain. We must see those ugly experiences as part of a grand design that is intended to bring out the beauty in us. We must see our past as a strengthening process, a necessary refinement procedure that was aimed at leading us to our authentic self. Some of us have been through events that were not any fault of ours but we cannot continue to wallow in self-pity because life just keeps moving forward. Most times we are not aware that our past is haunting us but if we sit down to reflect in honest meditation, the truth will reveal itself. Letting go of the past is the first instruction for self-healing in almost all spiritual literature and therefore there has to be some wisdom in this advice. Letting go does not mean that we should forget the past because it is impossible to forget; I believe it is all about re-framing the meanings of the experiences and this is the formula for turning pain into joy and grief into gold. As for me and my tribe, we have offloaded all excess baggage and converted our pain into the fuel of love that will be used to propel our flight into the land of peace. This message is brought to you from an empty cupboard near the central altar of my spiritual solitude.
