Miracles verses Science

I came across an update on Facebook by one of my Facebook friends yesterday. He put up a question, trying to get opinions on which of Science or Miracles does one believes in?

You'll see a number of comments. I did commented on the update and I want to share my opinion (my comments) on the blog, today.


Before You read my opinion, what would you have commented if you were to give your opinion on this?

Now, let's see my comments:



Both are real
Science is a Miracle, the miracle of nature.
Miracle can be Science as well. Sometimes, what we see as miracles, could be God allowing science to happen, science that has not yet been discovered/proven, and whose knowledge hasn't been acquired by humans.


Science isn't Man's Work. They are both God's work. Science is only God allowing Man to use the talent and wisdom He placed in him to create solutions for his problems. That's why I can't say one is greater than the other. They are both meant to serve their purposes. That's how God made them. I'm a Believer, but I can't just advice people or tell people that 'everything is God', because people have misunderstood it and their beliefs have made them unable to use their brain and apply the mental abilities God gave them. As you said: "Science is the conscious and effective use of our minds to improve our world", that Mind we use is God's ability and gift in Us. What we should do as humans is to always thank God for his gift in Us. And i don't believe in praying or asking for a miracle. I rather pray and ask God to give me understanding and knowledge to be able to provide solutions to life's issues, and when I'm limited, let Him come in and make it happen. If people just believe that Miracles are superior, a lot of them WON'T use the mental abilities God gave them and just waste that gift in them

I also commented:

I don't believe in one being superior over another because all were created and given by God. Science is just a way in which God empowers humans to be able to use the brain he gives Us and create solutions for life challenges. It's just a way of telling humans that they are powerful and have the abilities to be masters of circumstances and conditions. Miracles is only where God comes in directly to help man coz Man's abilities are limited there. Sometimes Miracles doesn't mean it's something so spectacular, sometimes Miracles are just what people feel because their knowledge is limited in that aspect, and it may not be everyone's knowledge that's limited. Someone else may have such knowledge. Miracles is also God coming in to make something happen in a shorter time. Miracle is a science that most times is beyond human comprehension, beyond natural course. So i don't see any as being superior. God made them to serve their various purposes.

Yesterday (on the day this was written), I watched Pastor Chris Oyakilome live as he preached. He used his iPad to read out scriptures. Later in the day, I saw a post on Instagram, and one guy like that insulted Pastor Chris for using iPad, instead of his Bible. I laughed at the man's ignorance. I remember an Uncle of mine was invited to a Church. He went there with his iPad, and someone asked him: "Sir, where is your Bible?” He showed him his 10.1 inches Pad. “But Sir,” he said, “This is not a Bible, this is iPad, you need to carry your Bible. I read this book about four years ago, and it was a big turning point for me. Much was learnt, I'll share few of them today. You should check it out. The lessons: Death begins when one stops learning, and ageing starts from one's mind, not one's body. One remains young as far as he or she keeps learning; One starts crashing once he or she stops pushing. One's ability to excel mentally is paralyzed once one stops trying and accepts that the results obtained is the best he or she can attain; One's life becomes a burden when one's life is void of progress.
