Aftermath (2017)
This is the cool movie of this week. I got mixed feelings watching this movie just before I write this. The lessons one could learn here are deep.
Aftermath stars Arnold Schwarzenegger (Roman Melnyk), Scoot McNairy (Jacob "Jake" Bonanos) among others.

Some lessons I learnt from this movie:
• A job/industry/organization which is a direct and high risk threat to lives, should be executed and managed most effectively. Personnel and equipment should be adequate and functional, respectively. Efficient backup and counter measures should be available and properly managed and executed.
It was a bad day for Jake, the air traffic controller. His partner shouldn't have left him alone to monitor the air traffic. Jake tried to divide his attention among a number of responsibilities. The bad telephone also contributed to the crisis. It was late to stop the two airlines from colliding in mid air, and those 271 lives couldn't have been lost. Those who lost their family members would've still had them; the compensation paid by the airline company would've been saved; the psychological stress Jake and Roman went through would've been avoided; and Jake wouldn't have been killed by Roman at the end.
Mistakes happen, the consequences just have to be served. But most important is that mistakes should be avoided and prevented when it can, than cured after it has happened.

• Roman was deeply affected by the loss of his wife and daughter. It may be understandable that it led him to kill Jake, the air traffic controller; but his action (which was a product of his unstable psychological state) not only sent him to jail, but almost got him killed ten years later by Samuel, Jake's son.
In life, one may get hurt and pushed to that extreme, when control seems to be almost lost, but maybe, one should try to gain some control, think about the consequences, and find a way; take the better decision towards the light.
