Sports this Week: Neymar Jr becomes world's most expensive football player and second highest paid player in the world

Its been an interesting week in the world of football. For the past few days, and many days to come, the world will be talking about Neymar Jr.

25 years old Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior became the world most expensive football player after Paris Saint-Germain made a payment of €222 million (about £200 million) to Barcelona, which is the value of the release clause in Neymar's contract. The deal was completed on Thursday, August 3, and would keep him at PSG till 2022. Many thought it was all rumours till it became official. The deal makes Neymar Jr the second highest paid player in the world (£515,000-per-week) after Carlos Tevez (Shanghai Shenua, £615,000-per-week). Neymar takes the number 10 Jersey, which was handed over to him by Javier Pastore. Neymar would definitely do great in PSG. Let's hope he wins the champions league with them and the balon d'or soon.

Fernando completed a transfer from Manchester City  to Galatasaray

Gaston Ramirez completed a transfer from Middlesbrough to Sampdoria

On Thursday, August 3:

Nigeria's most expensive player, Kelechi Iheanacho completed a transfer from Manchester City to Leicester in a deal worth about £25m

On Tuesday, August 1:

Jesus Navas completed a free transfer from Manchester City to Sevilla

On Monday, July 31:

Nemanja Matic completed a transfer from Chelsea to Manchester United, in a deal worth about £40m

I can't wait for the league to resume. It's just a week to go and the English Premier League kicks off. Before then, a pre-kick off game takes place tomorrow, August 6. It's Arsenal vs Chelsea in the FA community shield final. The game kicks off at 2 pm Nigerian time.

IPad, Android Phones Versus Bible

Yesterday (on the day this was written), I watched Pastor Chris Oyakilome live as he preached. He used his iPad to read out scriptures. Later in the day, I saw a post on Instagram, and one guy like that insulted Pastor Chris for using iPad, instead of his Bible. I laughed at the man's ignorance. I remember an Uncle of mine was invited to a Church. He went there with his iPad, and someone asked him: "Sir, where is your Bible?” He showed him his 10.1 inches Pad. “But Sir,” he said, “This is not a Bible, this is iPad, you need to carry your Bible. You're not a good preacher, if you don't preach with your Bible," one of the pastors said. Passing by a church over the weekend, my thoughts revolved about a noticeable trend that have stayed in Nigeria, I believe for about a decade or so. You must have observed same. Churches in recent years now use Religious broadcasting (which is broadcasting by religious organizations, usually with a religious message) to conduct LIVE services. So, a head quarter church in any part of the country can easily broadcast to any of their satellite churches, and you see people in this satellite churches agreeing and seeing visible results.
