Your magnitude of Patience(Area) versus the pressure(force)

There is much pressure on girls to 'worry about their looks'
Some people have resigned due to 'pressure of work'
Some wish they could just go back to the village due to the 'pressures of city life'
People who are not yet married are under 'pressure to get married'
Those who are married are under 'pressure to keep up with family life'. Some are wishing they never married.
Some ladies who decided to delay sex till marriage are under 'pressure of sex' due to the fact that they have lost some of their suitors.

If we are sincere to ourselves we all face one kind of pressure or the other, seasonally or consistently. So how can we handle it?
There are different recommendations on how to manage pressure, but permit to share one with you. You may not be a student of mathematics or a mathematician, but I'm sure you will be able to grab this.

What is pressure? It is the use of persuasion or intimidation to make someone do something.
The mathematical formula for pressure (P) is:
P = F/A,
where
F = Force Exerted and
A = Area
This means dividing the force by the area gives you the corresponding pressure.

In life, the FORCE exerted can be:
- people forcing you to get married
- crazy work load at office suggesting to you, to resign
- your marriage condition suggesting to you to divorce your spouse, etcetera.
Please note that this force is EXTERNAL

In life, the AREA on which the force is exerted can be likened to your PATIENCE. And this is INTERNAL.
When pressures or temptations come, then our patience is tested. If the pressure is unto good works, our patience will help us stay and not snap, but if it is unto bad works our patience will help us to stand against it and not succumb.

The same force can be applied to different people, but what will determine the resulting pressure is the area. The larger your area (patience) the lesser the results of the pressure; the lesser your area, the higher the pressure.

"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing" (James 1:2-4).

There is also a pressure on us to focus only on our needs and forget about reaching out to others.
This is a temptation we must avoid. Would you touch a life today?
