Comfort sucks!

As I watched the two fishes move in the aquarium, I experienced a drift... I began to wonder how some of us are comfortable in our limiting 'box' because we have food, shelter and other basic needs. Then I imagined how beautiful and interesting life would be if we break out of this box, this comfort and explore...and see life on the other side.

The life we yearn for is not found in the confines of our comfort zone. Until we risk comfort we won't get the chance to experience life on the other side.

Live life in crescendo, stretching, learning and expanding daily. Be willing to go higher, do more, take risk, grow, and go past you comfort zone. Growth, discovery and betterment are often accompanied by some degree of discomfort.

I stumbled upon the Instagram account of a Nigerian beer brand and their caption “celebrating friends” caught me. It is a tag that connects emotionally and can be easily bought into. The brand really makes a big deal of love and friendship with their #cityoflove campaign, hosting several events across Nigeria, inviting top music artistes. I went through their profile, they have about two thousands followers, average engagement level at 100. What! Are they doing well? They represent their brand with lovely pictures of their event, guests, videos of same and some stars behind the scene. The A list artistes will naturally attract attention to the brand and having clips of these serves well. Hello Friends, The Love and Positivity Initiative (LPI) has been Great! Some days ago (Tuesday, the 16th of January, to be precise), I got an idea which I shared with the members of the LPI WhatsApp Group. I was inspired to write four Positivity Quotes which I'll share here. The idea is about uploading Five Positivity Quotes as part of one's WhatsApp status, one each on each of the five working days of the week. This will be repeated every week, probably for a couple of months. I read this book about four years ago, and it was a big turning point for me. Much was learnt, I'll share few of them today. You should check it out. The lessons: Death begins when one stops learning, and ageing starts from one's mind, not one's body. One remains young as far as he or she keeps learning; One starts crashing once he or she stops pushing. One's ability to excel mentally is paralyzed once one stops trying and accepts that the results obtained is the best he or she can attain; One's life becomes a burden when one's life is void of progress. And when one's brain isn't working towards anything, it becomes a weight on the body. The brain is motivated when it sees something ahead, something to work towards for; One's success does not demand prayer and fasting, as much as engaging one's senses positively. When life rejects you as a waste of lemon, shake off the tag and GROW up into a lemonade! I grew up to my early teenage in Ilorin, Kwara state, Nigeria and countless times, I saw my mum poured cooking waste water containing tomato and vegetable seeds into a corner of our backyard through the kitchen window. Also, I grew up always seeing some tomato and vegetable plants growing at the corners of our unused backyard turned dumping site for kitchen waste and I always wondered who planted them and in fact, I also always thought they were unhealthy vegetables since they grow on a mere dirty, sometimes stinking waste-dumping site. Success Story: How I went from a CGPA of 2.29 to 4.00 within a Semester

This is a Success Story shared by Olusola O'sola Fapohunda, a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure. ----- In early 2010, I went with about four other guys in my department - to visit our level registration officer. We wanted to check our result. Each one of us, was with a paper and a pen. The lecturer in charge asked for our matriculation numbers and one after the other, he was reeling off grades, GPA and CGPA. He eventually got to me and I heard a digit that sounded like I've been shot. God! Me! 2.29. I've earned myself Grade E in some three unit courses and my best course was APH301, which I had a B with a score of 69. Everyone's trying to be truly happy, and everyone surely deserves that, because there's no life without happiness. But a lot of persons are much unhappy inside than they seem to be.
