When To Be Silent

Be silent when it's time to listen. (Proverbs 13:1)

Be silent if you can't say it without screaming. (Proverbs 25:8)

Be silent if you will be ashamed of your words later. (Proverbs 8:8)

Be silent if the issue is none of your business. (Proverbs 14:10)

Be silent if your words will damage someone else reputation. (Prov 16:27)

Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles. (Proverbs 21:23)

Let us take a look at these features; 1. Each ticking of the second hand offers you another opportunity to start all over again . That is, giving up when you fail should be the last option in your mind. There's always an opportunity to start all over and do things differently. And always remember, for a child of God, this opportunity comes with renewed mercies to help you. Lamentations 3:23. 2. Once a particular set time passes, it cannot be regained anymore. I've thought about this for a while now, but I recently decided to check it up and I'll share what I learnt about the science. I and a friend discussed about this today, and he disagreed wholly, until I showed him the Word. I once used to pray like this whenever we were to go into an 'anointing service.' “We invite the Holy Spirit into this place.” “The Holy Spirit really showed up this morning!” If you have been a Christian for any amount of time, you have no doubt heard these expressions. In fact, you have probably said at least one of them yourself. I know I have! Many believers today often open up church services or worship meetings with prayers like “come, Holy Spirit!” Yet I suspect these prayers may not need to be prayed. Indeed, they may actually cause more harm than good. Allow me to explain. As a Christian, I believe that any person who puts their faith (active trust) in Jesus is given the Holy Spirit. Passing by a church over the weekend, my thoughts revolved about a noticeable trend that have stayed in Nigeria, I believe for about a decade or so. You must have observed same. Churches in recent years now use Religious broadcasting (which is broadcasting by religious organizations, usually with a religious message) to conduct LIVE services. So, a head quarter church in any part of the country can easily broadcast to any of their satellite churches, and you see people in this satellite churches agreeing and seeing visible results. Several years ago, people will never try that. They will wonder why you should be looking at somebody in a box, and be dancing, singing and even believe same for miracles. What foolishness?
